Small spaces have their challenges, especially when it comes to decorating for the holidays! This year, I helped my sister add a few decorative touches to her Christmas décor. Although there was no fireplace, the goal was to put together a festive mantel display with her existing floating shelf. I did not remove her artwork, but rather left it as part of the display. I found a vintage inspired wreath, solely made out of bent wood branches and hung it from the back of the frame by using red ribbon. Next, I added garland along the shelf while weaving in LED battery operated lights. They not only add sparkle, but you don’t have to worry about seeing an ugly cord running along your shelf and plugged into the wall. Instead, it is concealed within the garland! To add color, I attached an assortment of Christmas balls and acorns. I made sure to purchase them in various shapes, sizes and colors to give visual interest. For the final touch, I added a few branches of berries to tie in with the rest of her décor. Voila! Her mantel is complete and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
