I had such a wonderful time taking part at Sherwood Forest Elementary school this past friday. It was fun to speak to the students about the creative and exciting field of Interior Design! They were a great crowd, eager to learn about the profession and willing to express their own creative ideas. I was exactly their age when I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in Interior Design. I even wrote it in my grade six grad book! Fast forward tweleve years and here I am, pursuing my long time career goal.
I was very impressed that the school had organized a Career Day to inspire these young minds with the various career option available in todays market. Often this is forgotten about or left unil the end of High school. It is wonderful that the grade six students are being exposed to career options for their future. This can help shape their decision and reinforce the importance of goal setting. Once you know what you want to do, it will just encourage you to work that much harder to accomplish your goal!
I have always told myself that hard work and passion are key for success. Nothing worthwhile comes easy in life and everything pay off in the long run if you are willing to work hard for it. If I inspired even just one student to pursue their passion in life, whether it is in a creative field or not, then I fullfilled my task. Do what you love and work will never feel like work <3
